Robert Sorby RSTM-HT123 TurnMaster Handled with Round, Detail Point, & Square HSS Cutters
- The robert sorby turnmaster is the first wood turning tool in the world to combine three cutting edge technologies in one amazingly versatile tool. The handled version of sorby’s versatile turnmaster tool with all three (round, detail point, and square) of their primary high speed steel cutters (hss). The titanium nitride coated excelsior tips offer the same characteristics as plain hss, but with the added toughness (has an rc of 90) and prolonged edge life that tin provides. Also includes a cutter release key, torx wrenches, and an instruction sheet. Will also accept any of sorby’s other turnmaster cutting tips. This allows for both scraping (for fast material removal) and shear scraping (for fine finishing and smoothing) options. Both the hss and tin cutters are re-sharpenable. The turnmaster incorporates a patented interchangeable cutter head that locks into three positions. The turnmaster will accept any of 3 standard cutters (square, round, or detail), as well as a wide range of other cutting tips which have been specially configured to work with it. It has a high tensile strength torx screw to keep cutters tight. Tool has a 12″ long ash handle and is 20-5/8″ long overall. It also includes a special key for quick cutter release. The round shank has a flat underside for stability on the rest. Choose super tough tungsten carbide for roughing operations or for abrasive materials such as high silica exotic woods. Robert Sorby Sovereign System 12″
- The handles are made of steel and aluminum alloy to give the best strength, balance and vibration dampening qualities. Available in three basic handle lengths, 12″, 16″ and 22″, the system not only accepts a wide range of tools specifically designed to match the handles, it will also take any of sorby’s standard un-handled tool blades that have a 5/8″ diameter shaft. - 10″ size. You are not fighting the laws of nature but removing wood with ease. It is supplied with two interchangeable tips for hollowing and scraping. Both are easily sharpened with a diamond file and can be replaced when need be.
